چکیده

Ru(III) Azo Schiff base complexes of the type has been synthesized by the condensation of o-phenylenediamine and 3,5-diaminobenzoic acid with 2-hydroxy naphthaldehyde /vanillin. The complexes were characterized by elemental analyses, molar conductance, magnetic susceptibility, IR, UV spectral data and thermal analyses. The elemental analysis of the complexes confirmed the stoichiometry of the complexes to be of the type [Ru(L)(Cl)(PPh3)]. The low molar conductance values confirmed the non-electrolytic nature of the complexes. The TGA of the complexes showed that the compounds are stable upto 300 ̊C. An octahedral geometry has been proposed for the complexes from the spectral data. The octahedral geometry has been further confirmed by the 3D molecular modeling diagrams. The metal complexes have been screened for their antibacterial against staphylococcus Aureus and E-coli and antifungal activity against C.Albicans. Aryl-Aryl coupling studies have been conducted for all the metal complexes.
